Just when everyone flocks to retribution after 2.3, here comes a someone who goes against the flow. He’s no stranger to all the old-school paladins with his old movies on reckoning bombs while they still have it. Meet Cosaga from Stormrage, releasing his 5th video showcasing his holy skills and awesomeness.

Hello,
This is my 5th PvP movie, the 2nd one with a 40/0/21 Holy-Ret spec. In most of the clips my spell dmg / healing is over 1k, maxing out around 1,070 unbuffed. The clips shown are all from Season 2, ranging from week one into the last month of the Season.
PvP Locations are Battle Grounds, Arena 2v2 w/ 3 different partners ( 1700 - 1850s ), The Under City, and Orgrimmar. Fights included are 1v1, 1v2, 1v3, as well as some group fights.
I feel that visitors here will benefit a lot more from the advices of all the pros, instead of an intermediate like me, and hence I have decided to set up the new forum in the hope that we can all help each other out. :)
The following changes are planned for Paladin in the next patch, 2.3.2, which we hope will go up on the PTR quite soon:
Crusader Strike (Retribution) now causes 110% of weapon damage and no longer gains any bonus from spell damage.
Righteous Fury: This spell will no longer cost twice the listed mana to cast.
Sanctified Judgments (Retribution) now returns 80% of the Seal’s mana cost, increased from 50%.
Seriously though, I’m starting to worry that Retribution is getting a little too much love from Blizzard out of a sudden.
On a side note, now that Blizzard decided that Retribution should be less reliant on spell power, what comes next? Would the hybrid-ness in paladins be gone? Anyhow I just don’t think that people care much about hybrid anymore.
I have a 70 BE Pally named Saintx. I recently respec’ed from Ret to Holy so I could do more instance runs since I wasn’t getting a lot of demand for ret. I currently have mana of 7683 and a heal bonus of 877. First, do you feel that enough to heal for Kara (assuming there is another healer as well)? Second, what sort of non-raid armor is good for healing. Currently, I just have a crappy hodge podge of stuff. Should I aim for the righteous armor set or is there a better set out there?
Thanks for the help
Great hi to you David! Thanks for sending in your question. I’m no pro but hopefully if I’m wrong someone can correct me. :)
This is a bit of a mixed post (with an actual Zul’aman model picture above, but) dedicated mainly to retribution paladins. So tonight patch 2.3 will go live. Most likely the changes in PTR will be untouched and migrated onto live directly… hence great news for all paladins particularly the ones re-speccing retribution. Following that I have found some interesting things (including 2 videos) to share with all of you, so do have a look. :)
Amphi from Daggerspine-EU has started a thread on WoW EU forum titled Paladin: Retribution FAQ. As the title suggest, it deals mainly with the frequently asked questions regarding retribution. As such on many levels these are just common sense. However if you are thinking of re-speccing etc in patch 2.3, this could be a very good read to start with. It also contains 2 links that talk about higher level retribution mechanics. So this could still be rather helpful for you hardcore retadins.
I know this is not wowWarrior.org but hey, how can you pass it up when the world’s highest rated warrior posted a video of his? Meet Serennia from Tichondrius, 1st in every bracket within his battleground Bloodlust. Arguably one of the most competitive battlegrounds in WoW, one will definitely need some skills to get to the top!
Video after the jump.
2642 2v2 (#1 in the world)
2538 3v3
2710 5v5 (#1 in the world)
This is Serennia from Tichondrius server on BG9 Bloodlust. I transferred from BG1 Reckoning on Frostmane server, where I was relatively unknown, yet holding the top ranked 2v2 team in the battlegroup at the time all of season 2. There wasn’t much of a supporting cast available for the other brackets on the battlegroup, and even still, we did well in both season one and two there. Coming to Tichondrius and playing on the most competitive battlegroup has been game-changing for me, and I definitely never regret the move. It has taught me a lot about the upper levels of competition, pitting me against some of the best players and teams the game has to offer. Never did I fully understand the meaning of “warrior gib” until I played on bg9.

Arena Season 3 has been announced by Drysc to start on 20th of November 2007, one week after patch 2.3. If you have not check out the latest paladin sets on PTR yet, here are some screenshots of the stats as well as the look of the sets. I personally don’t dig the halo helm look. Might look awesome with our wings up but bleah… Other parts of the sets are just mehhh at best.
Then again good looks are just bonus. Stats are the important bit. Something interesting to note is that, in the Vindication set, the supposedly retribution armor comes with no spell damage. Yup. In this season, strength points have been increased and spell damage points are removed altogether. There have been major arguments on this. Major reason behind this is that why is the ultimate pvp gear for retribution paladins are not catering to the needs of the ultimate retribution ability — Crusader Strike? One of them ought to be changed somehow.
